The beauty of the Lake District can be admired from many different angles, on high from Helm Crag or a gentle meander around Grasmere and Rydal Water. It is possible to spend several days walking from our door without having to get in your car, so if you’re keen to reduce your exhaust emissions, then what better place to come? There are plenty of ways to get around, for example, a lake steamer e.g. www.windermere-lakecruises.co.uk , a specialist tour with www.mountain-goat.com or the local buses.
We are privileged to have a Badger Sett in our garden and in the evening you can watch them feeding from the garden or the comfort of your room.
Why not enjoy an evening’s stroll along the path which leads from our house down to the lakeshore from where you can admire the beauty of Grasmere lake and may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an otter, kingfisher, and more recently, an osprey.

relaxing, dog friendly environment...
We are happy to accept dogs, we just ask our guest to refrain from letting them onto the front lawn, so as to allow everyone the pleasure of enjoying the peace and tranquillity that our garden has to offer.
