By Road

To help you find us we have provided you with an interactive map (above), which will give you step-by-step directions on how to get here.

 

Alternatively, follow these instructions if you are driving north on the M6:

  1. From the M6 travelling north, take the junction 36 exit, sign-posted Kendal and South Lakes Follow the A591 to Windermere, Ambleside and on to Grasmere.
  2. Approaching the mini-roundabout, turn left into the village on Stock Lane.
  3. Go past a car park on your right and soon you will see the first shop of the village on your left.
  4. Slow right down and turn sharp left at the corner of the shop.
  5. You are now in Lake View Drive and will find us at the end!

 

Or, follow these instructions if you are driving south on the M6:

  1. From the M6 travelling south, take the junction 40 exit, sign-posted Penrith and Keswick.
  2. Follow signs to Keswick.
  3. After 14 miles, take the turning on the left sign-posted Windermere, which takes you through St. John's in the Vale and joins the A591.
  4. Turn left and continue until you reach Grasmere.
  5. On approaching Grasmere you will pass The Travellers Rest, public house and The Swan Hotel, carry on until you come to a mini-roundabout and turn right on to Stock Lane.
  6. Go along this road, passing a car park on your right, you will then approach the first shop of the village, you will need to slow right down and turn sharp left.
  7. Go along this private lane and we are at the end!

 

By Rail

The nearest railway station is Windermere, just a few miles away. Stagecoach operates a regular bus service (number 555), which can transport you from Windermere train station to the top of Lake View Drive, Grasmere. The bus stop is opposite the schoolyard.

First North Western operates train services from Windermere to Manchester Airport, via Oxenholme the Lake District, Lancaster, Preston and Manchester. Oxenholme the Lake District (near Kendal) is located on the main London to Glasgow (West Coast) line, operated by Virgin Trains. Oxenholme is also served by Virgin Cross-Country, which operates train services between Scotland and the south-west of England and Trans Pennine Express operating services between Manchester Airport and Glasgow / Edinburgh, which stop at Oxenholme.

 

By Air

The nearest passenger airports to us are Manchester and Liverpool, both of which are about two hours by road, but which also have rail connections, either on site or nearby.
