Lake View is attractively built from Lakeland stone and is appropriately named, as it stands in an enviable position in a secluded garden close to the lakeside. Private access to the lakeshore allows guests to fish at no charge; or you can simply relax and enjoy the view over the water. The owners are welcoming and helpful. Most of the well-equipped bedrooms benefit from the view. An excellent breakfast is served at individual tables, and includes home made Muesli and/or fruit compote. For guests booking a winter break, evening meals are available by arrangement, and vegetarians can be catered for; otherwise there are many options in the village. Given the sense of seclusion and tranquility enjoyed at Lake View, it may come as a surprise to find the heart of Grasmere only a couple of minutes’ walk from the house.
