Helvellyn

The best way to access Helvellyn from Grasmere is to drive, or take the Stagecoach 555 bus north on the A591 to Swirls car park on Thirlmere. From there the track climbs steeply to the summit. You can then choose any of several paths of varying lengths to return to the car park, or else - if you don't need to get back to Swirls - follow the ridge south to Grisedale Tarn and finally Grasmere.
