To Grasmere Lakeshore

Grasmere lakeshore is easily reached along the private path following the banks of the River Rothay from the end of our garden. Although the walk is short, the track beside the river is uneven and cannot be followed by buggies or wheelchairs. Once at the lakeshore, there is a gravel spit whose size varies greatly with the height of Grasmere lake. Picture 5 below shows it after heavy rain: after a dry spell it extends some way into the lake. You can enjoy swimming or just sitting to enjoy the view from here.
